History

They were the Maca along with quinua, the Pope, and the meat of the camelidaes, the daily subsistence of seasoned the Pumpush. (Archaeologist Ramiro Matos).With the Incaico Empire, according to the chronicles it was a considered food as SACRED it were destined specially for the incaica royalty, in addition which it was fed the troops of the Inca with Maca, because it offered to vitality and physical force to the soldiers, in this period the Maca was cultivated in all the plateau of Junín, to be sent to the Cusco like tribute of the Pumpush to the Incanato.

Later with the Spanish conquest, it was the favorite food of the Spanish crown, as it consists in the file of Indians, where every year is indicated the payment of tributes in Maca with Fanegas of Maca, which they were sent from Peru.
